About ELITE HORSE RACING
In 2007 Elite Horse Racing Company LLC was formed by Ben McElroy and Gabriel Duignan. The syndicate specializes in buying high quality fillies at the two-year old sales and racing them through the end of their three-year-old year. The fillies purchased to run for Elite Horse Racing have to meet strict criteria when being selected at the sales. Selected fillies have to descend from fashionable, commercial families and must be well-made conformationally.
It was obvious at the last two major breeding stock sales (Keeneland November and January) that fillies fresh off the track, that had performed at stakes levels, brought premium prices. Additionally, these fillies are highly sought after if they break their maidens impressively, or run a impressive speed figures (either Ragozin or Beyer). Elite Horse Racing is building its racing stable with these facts at the forefront of its business model.
In 2007, Elite Horse Racing's business plan was proven when its syndicated filly, Game Face, was sold to Zabeel Racing for a very healthy profit after breaking her maiden impressively at Aqueduct by over seven lengths. In 2008, Game Face went on to win the Old Hat-G2 very impressively for her new owners, proving to be a talented prospect with a tremendous future. This is the type of filly Elite Horse Racing will continue to attempt to acquire at future two-year-old sales.
While Elite Horse Racing has already proven to be a sound investment, your participation in the syndicate can also provide the thrill of owning racehorses that will compete at top tracks in North America. Last year Elite Horse Racing's syndicated stable had a total of eight fillies competing at the races. In 2008, Elite Horse Racing would like to purchase at least ten fillies, as it is our belief that in any facet of the horse business, quality in numbers is the key to success. Furthermore, a larger stable offers investors the opportunity to have fillies running on a more consistent basis providing plenty of action during the height of the racing season.
In 2007, Elite Horse Racing had a banner year with 88% percent of its runners finishing first or second in their initial starts. In addition to Game Face, whose G2 success has already being mentioned, Megadeed won first time out at Aqueduct in a very professional manner. Megadeed should continue to be very competitive in stakes competition this coming year. Another stable mate, Rate of Exchange, ran a superb race first time out at Santa Anita, professionally overcoming a horrendous trip to just get beaten at the wire. Big things are expected from Rate of Exchange in 2008.
Spanish Coin is an Elite Horse Racing color-bearer who was just beaten a neck first time out at Churchill Downs. Spanish Coin had a small setback shortly thereafter, but is due to return soon to the barn of leading trainer, Steve Asmussen, who holds her in very high regard. Elite Horse Racing also acquired The Niagara Queen at the Fasig-Tipton 2007 November Sale. She is a stakes winning daughter of Langfuhr who ran fourth by only two lengths in the E. P. Taylor-G1 in her last start. The 2007 syndicate still owns a pair of nice fillies who have yet to make their first start.
Elite Horse Racing's
Gabriel Duignan and Ben McElroy
will start inspecting fillies at the upcoming OBS February sale in
Ocala and continue through to the Fasig-Tipton Maryland sale in May.
Fillies will also be considered for purchase privately. As a
testament to the sound nature of the investment Elite Horse Racing
presents, Ben and Gabriel will be taking shares in the syndicate
themselves, as they did in 2007. Please consider joining
Elite Horse Racing in 2008. If you have any questions please
